Phil Harding 2CD Compilation... [21 May 2011]
The Phil Harding CD Compilation to accompany the book is still very much on its way asap. For a multi-artist, multi-label, 2CD compilation of back-in-the-day material, it's complicated and takes a lot of development and time (particularly with licensing)... It should be very much worth waiting for though - some nice surprises in store! News will be announced here and the Official Facebook group (see left hand panel) as soon as is possible. [JP]

Double CD accompanying the book - coming soon [11 November 2010]
A big thanks also to Cherry Red for their support and patience in the process. They are still seeking permissions for some of the tracks that we hope to feature on my 'Phil Harding Mixes from the 1980s' compilation CD to accompany the book, so we will all have to be a little more patient to see the release of that, hoped for early 2011 on Cherry Pop Records. Keep checking the website for announcements...
Message from Phil Harding [10 November 2010]
It's with a sense of relief and joy that I can finally say the words "it's finished!". After spending large chunks of time throughout 2010 researching, typing,
listening to PWL mixes and eventually adding new text that more than DOUBLES the length of my first version of the book, to now take it to 600 pages! It's
available from 22nd November to purchase via Cherry Red's excellent website or the usual channels, such as Amazon, etc. You may find a few copies in some
book stores in the UK but certainly you should be able to order through any book store worldwide. Details on the panel to the left.
I have to say a huge thanks to researchers, John Palmer and Jeremy Kay, both of whom have done
a fantastic job in compiling every possible detail for the
book's new Discography, the most extensive ever published of my work from
1973 - 1992 (and additionally, many unreleased projects). John Palmer has
also visited my studio and tape archive a number of times in an endless
effort to squeeze out every bit of possible interesting 'PWL information'
from me in his role as book editor.
John has also conducted a series of interviews with me, throughout 2010, culminating in a revealing, in-depth joint interview with Ian Curnow and myself that
will be a new section of the book. The other interviews focus on what are considered to be 'Key Artists' at PWL, and each one covers in more detail working
with six different acts - Rick Astley, Bananarama, Hazell Dean, Kylie Minogue, Mel & Kim and Dead Or Alive.
Another new section of the 'Expanded Edition' describes the various musical styles that we went through at PWL from 1984-1992, and I go on to commentate
on many of what I considered to be 'landmark' mixes, in both a creative and technical way. This makes for further good reading and research opportunities for
Educational Studies to complement the Technical Section at the back of the book.
To accompany all of that is a very large addition of unseen photos, including exclusive pictures of awards, memorabilia and tapes from my archive. I hope to be
doing a number of radio interviews both online and around the UK soon, plus I will be putting up some Podcasts of sections of the book and audio clips here on
our new website dedicated to this release.
